Freshly baked, crispy, and fluffy bread in the morning is part of the daily routine for many Portuguese people. But beyond being a staple in family life, it is the tradition surrounding this food that makes it truly special. To honor its history and carry it forward, the SANA Group has launched Bread & Friends, where Portuguese bread takes center stage, designed for modern society.
Located in the heart of Lisbon, specifically on Avenida Fontes Pereira de Melo, this space is built around bread but also features pastry and coffee. The bakery operates with a fully open production area, allowing customers to witness the baking process in real-time. A variety of freshly baked breads are produced, including Alentejo-style bread, rye bread, yellow corn broa, and chestnut and fennel bread.
In the pastry section, where everything is artisanal, customers will find classic Bolas de Berlim, Brioche Craquelin, and Chocolate Babka. During the holiday season, Bolo Rei and Bolo Rainha take center stage in the display.
The coffee selection offers two unique blends, roasted in-house at different times throughout the day. The selection is divided into two product ranges: traditional, everyday coffee and gourmet coffee, made from beans artisanally roasted in-store.
